About Us

Our Lady of Mercy School is a Catholic elementary school for pre-kindergarten through eighth grade students. We are located in a beautiful country setting on the Connecticut Shoreline overlooking Long Island Sound that is easily accessible via Route 1 and I-95 in Madison, Connecticut. Our Lady of Mercy School is open to academically qualified students of any race, creed, color, gender or ethnicity.

OLMS Facts

We are a parochial school sponsored by St. Margaret and St. George parishes under the direction of the Archdiocesan Office of Catholic Schools.

We have been educating shoreline students from pre-kindergarten to grade eight for over 50 years.

We are accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

We offer a traditional core curriculum integrated with formal French instruction, health education, cutting edge technology and a full fine arts program.

Our class average ranks are 1-4 years above grade level on standardized tests.

Approximately one third of our students in grades 5-7 qualify for the Johns Hopkins Talent Search.

We are recognized as a Top School for the state of Connecticut demonstrating that OLM has a solid core of very high achieving students compared to the other qualifying schools in the state.

Other Interesting OLMS Facts

First Friday Liturgies and prayer services are planned by the students.

Extracirricular activities include: Athletics, cheerleading, drama, band, choir, student council, newspaper, mock trial, yearbook.

We participate in the Connecticut Science Fair and the Connecticut Invention Convention.

We offer before and after school care services, field trips to places of interest in Connecticut and Parish priests visit the classrooms on a regular basis.
