At Our Lady of Mercy School each student has the unique opportunity to develop and foster his or her Catholic faith. Our focus of “Educating the child to be Christ in the world” is reinforced through daily religious education/ religion integrated curriculum, prayer services and First Friday Mass.
Prayer Services are planned and presented by each grade. The students lead a themed prayer service with readings, song and prayer.
First Friday Mass
On the first Friday of each month in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Mass is celebrated in the gymnasium. All members of the OLM community are encouraged to attend Mass and celebrate our shared Catholic Faith.
Our parish priests make monthly visits to the classrooms to speak with the class on pre-arranged religious topics.
The students and families of OLM participate in community outreach projects throughout the year. This includes service projects several times a year for the needy including blanket and coat drives, as well as canned goods/food drives. Each Christmas there is also a "Family to Family" project through St. Margaret Church. Students (in all grades) receive one family member to shop for with their families. A basket of gifts for the family is put together and delivered to the church for the family in need.
