Our Lady of Mercy School is committed to utilizing technology within our core curriculum and to further enhance education and to prepare students for their future. Every classroom is equipped with cutting edge technology enabling full integration with our strategies for teaching and learning.
Technology is a natural part of the instruction process and our technology-rich classrooms further enable each teacher to serve as a facilitator of instruction, coach, and mentor, helping each student explore information that can often span the globe. Students are not just taught how to use technology, they learn whilst using technology as one of their many learning mediums.
In addition to a fully iMac equipped Innovation Center every classroom has a 60" LED screen with each teacher utilizing an iPad to mirror their screen for the whole class to see and, thanks to our mobile iPad cart housing 30 iPads, we have an outstanding ratio of of iPads vs students enabling students to interact with a vast array of educational apps within class.
We also have a chromebook cart housing 30 chromebooks for classes to use. Our science program has adopted a lego robotics program to enhance learning in math, technology and science.
We also have secure Wireless Internet throughout the school enabling the faculty to have access to information on an as needed basis when away from their desks.
As a school, we are committed to the ongoing development of our infrastructure, hardware, software, and quality professional development related to technology resources in order to implement all of these efforts successfully within the learning environments of our children. Staff will prepare students to effectively and efficiently communicate, problem solve, and function in the 21st century.
